Ellen Hamilton, principal, Hamilton Design Associates

Ellen Hamilton is dedicated to creating beautiful and comfortable rooms that are tailored to the tastes of each of her clients.

She offers her residential clients the highest level of personal service and attention to detail.

Ellen enjoys the tactile and sensual qualities of objects, fabrics and finishes. Her deep understanding of how things are made fosters a close collaboration with master craftsmen to produce purpose-made items that complete the fresh, original feeling of all her spaces.

Her work was recently featured in Restoring a House in the City by Ingrid Abramovitch (Abrams, 2009) and on the cover of New York Spaces. Other residences were published in House & Garden, Style, Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Robb Report, Belle and elsewhere.

Ellen’s room in the 2009 Hamptons Designer Show House received widespread praise for its new take on traditional decorating.

Ms. Hamilton founded Hamilton Design Associates in 1986. She was educated at Drexel University, and before establishing her own practice, she worked with several leading New York architecture and residential interior design firms, including Peter Marino Architects and Fox & Fowle Architects.
